Okay,
so you want to have a bachelorette party. Your party doesn't have to
be a boozed up affair, although most bachelorette parties do involve
alcohol. You also need to decide how much trouble you want to stir up.
Whether you want to go out, or have the party at someone's home. ("Not my
house!," you say.) You can always rent a
hotel room or suite to hold the party in. Here's a few ideas. The
bachelor/bachelorette party doesn't need to be the night before the
wedding. While this may be some kind of unofficial tradition, (to get the
bride or groom plastered the night before), the best time is to hold it
the weekend before the wedding, if your travel plans allow it.
You could also rent a boat, large or
small, to hold the party on. (Be sure whoever is driving the boat
isn't drinking.) Downtown at Bayfront Park you can find many
charter boats, including LeBarge to cruise on. Or, really splurge.
Rent a room at the Hyatt
to crash in after the cruise and you don't even need to worry
about driving. Hiring a limo
for the evening is a good idea.
How about a daytime beach bachelorette
party? Parasail rides and a party after at the beach. BYOB, (no
glass bottles on Sarasota's beaches please), and you can have a
great time and maybe continue it into the night. (Pass the
Tylenol.)
Often, the bachelorette party is held
the same night as the groom's bachelor party. This way, nobody is
sitting home wondering if the other is having more fun. (Girls,
just make sure
that you and your friends are having more fun than the guys.)
Lingerie Party
The bride is going to need something special for the
wedding night anyway, so a lingerie party is a definite
possibility.
Psychic
Hire a psychic to come over and do readings. (Maybe the
bride will find out she should have married that guy at the gas
station.)
Pin
The Tail on The Donkey (Centerfold)
Pick up a magazine for women, that has a centerfold, (wink,
wink), and from any party store a Pin the Tail on the Donkey game.
Just substitute the centerfold for the donkey from the game. You
get the idea.
Scavenger Hunt/Road
Rally
You need to be creative for this. But, it depends on the
tastes of the participants as to what types of things you're going
to have the group and bride-to-be hunt for. Men? A guy with a
certain look?
Miniature Golf
Rent out the course for an hour. Put some prizes in the
holes. Maybe creative coupons good for drinks, kisses, candy?
